The boy in the striped pyjamas book is set in the country of Berlin in World War II during the war between the Nazi's (Germany) and the Jews. I believe that the conflict of Boy in the striped pyjamas is the conflict between Bruno and his family. The reason I say this is because from reading the book, I have discovered that Bruno and his sister hate eachother and later on in the book, there is one scene where the mother has a conflict with her husband. I think that the reason why there is so much conflict between the family in the book is because firstly, the dad is extremely passionate about what he does, so that can come out in his persona in a bad way, Bruno feels 'confined' because the backyard which abuts the forest is "Out of Bounds At All Times And No Exceptions", and in is other house, he was free to play anywhere he wanted and with his friends, so Bruno feels isolated from his friends, and Bruno's mother is horrified to find out what is happening next door in the "farm". Additionally, everybody misses the old house and does not like the new house, except for the dad. However, they The People involved in this central conflict are the predominantly mum, dad and Bruno. At the end of the book, the conflict ends. After Bruno gets gassed with Shmuel, the family eventually go back to Berlin (except for the father). He stayed in OutWith (the main house of the story) for just over one year and he became very disliked by fellow soldiers. One day, he re-enacted the last moments of his sons life, going to the fence and just imagining what Bruno was going through at the time.
